Fall in the Bay is better with a dog who can actually join you.

Most Trainers will teach your dog to sit. that’s great.

We will teach them to track a scent trail through the city and hold it together at most outdoor venues.

That’s better.

This is training with a purpose that actually matches how you live. If your weekends involve trails, patios, farmers markets, waterfront walks or anywhere a well- behaved dog makes the experience better, these programs are built for you.

Summer crowds are gone. The trails have breathing room. The patios are comfortable again. Fall in the Bay Area is genuinely one of the best seasons to be outside with your dog, if your dog is ready for it.

Grimm and Co. offers two programs this fall built specifically for people who want their dog to be a real part of their life, not a liability they manage around.

Outdoor Manners: A well Behaved Dog is the Best Accessory You Own

The Bay Area has an exceptional outdoor culture and your dog should be part of it. Farmers markets, waterfront dining, weekend trail towns, outdoor concerts, the kind of Saturday that works better when your dog is with you.

The problem is not that your dog is bad. The problem is that nobody ever taught them how to navigate these environments specifically. Settling under a table while the world moves around them. Holding focus when another dog walks by. Being the dog that strangers want to smile at, instead of the one they cross the street for.

That is a specific skill set and we teach it specifically. This is real-world training for the real-world life that you are already living and want to enjoy more fully.

Mantrailing: Give your dog a job worth having

Your dog has 300 million scent receptors and, if we’re being honest, not nearly enough to do with them.

Mantrailing is a scent-based sport in which your dog learns to follow a single person’s unique scent trail through a real environment. The roots are in search and rescue work. The experience is unlike anything else you will do with your dog.

It is mentally demanding in the best possible way. One solid man trailing session will do more for your dog’s disposition and overall energy than two hours of fetch, because it engages the part of your dog’s brain that was actually built for this kind of work. For dogs who have mastered the basics and need something challenging, this is the answer.

It’s also addictive for the handler. Mantrailing requires you to read your dog and follow their lead rather than direct them. It builds communication dynamics that most dog owners have never experienced. You start to understand your dog differently and that shift carries over to everything else.

No prior experience required. Any breed, any age, any baseline. The nose is the qualification.

Fall in the Bay gives us an expanded and genuinely varied range of environments to work in as the city opens back up after summer. In a sport where environment is the whole game, this is worth taking advantage of.

This is for Peopel who take their dogs seriously.

The clients who find Grimm and Co. tend to have a few things in common. They want their dog to be a genuine companion, not a pet they work around. They have the time to invest in doing this right. And they are done settling for a dog who is fine at home but a problem everywhere else.
